As a sexuality educator I can stand up and say that yes racism is still a problem and will continue to be one because of how we market porn. White people are being catered to when it comes to the adult sex industry. To me, adding Ebony to the title sends a message to white people, don’t come here because this isn’t for you or come here so you can try something different.
If the two people look good fucking why should it matter what their race is? I hope content creators focus more on the quality of the work rather than the racial differences of the actors. I encourage consumers to ditch the free stuff and pay for some quality content.
The point is, porn is an example of white privilege. I want people to be mindful and critical of the world around them, especially when it comes to sexuality and the intersection of racism. I hope I have left you wondering and critically thinking, why is the default setting on porn sites white?
